das digipack-cover ist von tDR und sehr edel, sehr schön. weg vom gewohnten designers republic style. unscheinbare schönheit. und mit der musik ist es so ähnlich.

ein skandal! nix mehr mit dem starken helden, der alles sauber kriegt, mit seiner muskelkraft den dreck fertig macht wie sonst nur bruce willis. nein, der arme kerl sitzt jetzt blöd grinsend in einer waschmaschine, mit taucherbrille und schnorchel auf dem kopf.

i'm hearing the album right now and i can tell you something :

i got good ears i can tell you.
the sound is muddy, most of the time there's not even reverb on thom's voice, sometimes the bass overloads everything ... anybody who knows mixing a bit will tell you, and you can feel it too : Nigel Godrich makes stuff WAY better than that.
this album sounds like The Bends, because The Bends has a straightforward mix, more "rock" (muddy) equalization.
now : maybe Nigel wanted that kind of muddy sound, but i got very GREAT doubts. personally i'm quite sure (99%) the mix isn't finished, or even done.
the album still sounds good cause Nigel Godrich knows well how to place mics, and do some pre-equalization when recording, so it's not that bad but i'm pretty sure it will be EVEN better. simply compare to amnesiac, or ok computer, the MP3 we have sounds amateur ...
so : people who don't download MP3s : you'll be rewarded with a first listen which will be the REAL thing, not some weird sounding thom.
